Choose the measurement method before taking out the tape. This tool uses WeatherBeeta's body-length chart: from the centre of the chest around the side to the end of the rump. It does not use the length along the back.
A worked example
A body measurement of 185 cm matches the manufacturer's 6 ft 0 in entry, labelled 185 cm. The chart uses rounded size labels, so these are not exact mathematical unit conversions. If you fall between entries, the tool shows the next chart entry; ask the retailer about fit before choosing.

What about rug weight?
Temperature alone cannot choose a fill weight for an individual horse. Clipping, condition, wind, rain and shelter also matter. Read the BHS rugging guidance and our rug weight guide. Check comfort under the rug behind the withers; the aim is warm and dry.
